Background check required

Every membership application now includes a background check, completed through Checkr. This helps keep the young people and school partners in our service projects safe, and it safeguards the Club’s finances. The cost is included in your entry fee, so there is no separate charge.

Checkr, our background check partner, will email you a secure link to complete your check. The cost is included in your entry fee.
Board review
The Club’s board meets monthly to review applications and approve new memberships. If you’re approved, we’ll invoice you for Club dues.

Paying by credit card adds a service charge, which is noted on the invoice. Paying by check mailed to the Rotary Office does not.
Get introduced
Once you’ve paid the entrance fee and dues, you’ll be formally introduced at a Monday meeting.

What we ask of members

Fellowship is the top reason Rotarians stay involved, whether that’s a Kids Against Hunger or Habitat for Humanity build or a social event. Here’s what membership looks like:

Show up. Attend weekly meetings, join a service project, or come to a social event.
Serve. Join a committee of your choice or a hands-on service project.
Pay dues on time. Dues are semi-annual and payable on receipt, online by credit card or by check.
Respect our Solicitation Free Club policy. Read the policy (PDF).
Give within your means to the Toledo Rotary Club Foundation and the Rotary International Foundation.
Invite others. It’s a privilege and obligation of every Rotarian to propose new members and share the Object of Rotary.

The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Service

Ethics
Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. Leadership
Rotary is an organization of successful professionals.
